M-Boss Inc Tin Ceiling Header
  Step 1 -- Install Plywood
When using M-Boss Inc. Backsplash Panels nailing is the recommended method for installation. The first step is to line the wall where the panels will be placed with a 1/4” to 3/8” plywood and M-Boss Edging to cover the exposed plywood edges.  Templates for outlets, windows, etc. should be cut prior to beginning actual installation.

Step 2 -- Coat and Install the Panels
Since backsplashes are typically installed in high-use areas, the panels may be susceptible to impact. To avoid unwanted blemishes, the backside of each panel should be coated with latex based tile adhesive in a thin even coat. While still moist and pliable, place the panel into position, gently pressing the panel against the plywood, allowing the adhesive to ooze into all the crevices of the embossed panel. Nail the panel in place. Nail heads are intended to be seen as part of the overall decorative appearance.

  Step 3 -- Overlap Panels
With most patterns, the next panel will overlap the prior panel by 3/8”, nesting neatly into the ‘dot-dash-dot’ of the previously installed panel. To prevent moisture from getting behind the panels, a light bead of clear caulk or silicone should be laid down over the area to be overlapped. Place the next panel in to position and follow the same procedure as the last, and so on. Intermittently, using a clean, non-abrasive cloth, wipe away the excess caulk or adhesive before it hardens. Continue with the remaining panels in this same manner until the entire area is completed.

  Step 4 -- Apply Caulk
Once all of the panels are installed, apply a light bead of caulk around the entire perimeter of the backsplash, being sure to wipe away any excess caulk.

Because backsplashes are in a damp environment, it is recommended that an M-Boss Inc. finished panel be used. This is to avoid watermarks that can stain “uncoated” material or degrade artisan finishes.

**Special Note for Polished Copper and
Polished Brass Finish Applications**

The material requires special attention when installed as a backsplash. Spray the back of the panels with clear coat acrylic to protect finish. Allow drying overnight before installation. This will protect the metal from reacting with the fill compound.
